It actually pains me to be critical about Matt's works, especially since I wait with great anticipation for anything he gifts us with. Delta is back but the story seemed as though it was written by another author at times. I did not enjoy it as I have every other of Matt's works and kept waiting for the story to evolve into what I have come to expect from a Delta issue which did not happen until nearly the end. which was way too abrupt. Those jumps from the helo didn't answer many questions I have about how and where Duane and Sofia end up. Does she join Delta? Do they both leave their respective branches and grow grapes? Argh!
Duane and Sofia meet in the jungles of Venezuela 🇻🇪, present time. Their connection and love story is amazing and hot! How many male authors are writing military romance? I don’t know, but surely M.L. Buchman is one of the best?This storyline could be ripped from the headlines. A special Delta team, The Unit, as it’s now known, is rescuing sex trafficked victims from a well-guarded compound. There is a sniper, Sofia, from a research and investigation unit, called The Activity, who upon seeing the boss, The General, enter the compound, calls in for The Unit. A special team of 6, Duane and his team members destroy the camp, rescue and “enrich†the victims, and capture into custody The General, all pretty much in 30 minutes!There is a training mission that will blow your mind! The characters are well-developed and likable. The dialogue is snarky, fun, and memorable! There is lots of military action, well-described and fascinating. This is a mesmerizing and engaging read!
The Delta team put themselves into great danger finding human traffickers in Venezuela in this book. Duane, a Delta, on a mission in the jungle to wire a hidden encampment, where kidnapped women are being held comes upon a hidden Activity member. Sophia is watching and gathering intelligence on the leader of the encampment.Duane and Sophia are attracted to each other and their feelings continue to grow while getting to know each other and Sophia being including into another mission. There's suspense, intrigue, hot sex, Delta maneuvers and plenty of humorous bantering. A good read.
Yes, I've read them all (Ok, not one of the fantasies) and this is super. I have to give an immediate second reading to figure out how he crammed in so much action. What a thrill ride! But don't worry, no romance was hurt or harmed in the making of this adventure:) Duane and his new love are taken from adventurous meet through to happy ending with full development of their characters and relationship.. Did I mention how much I enjoyed this?
Excellent book. New characters (at least to me) and plot, although I may have missed books 1 + 2. I am so glad to see Mr Buchman writing full length novels again.This book kept my interest throughout and the author kept all facets of the plot moving right along as he solved the immediate problems and added more issues to be resolved.
This was a very good story. Sofia was on a mission and called for help. Duane and his team were sent to help. Duane and Sophia hit it off right away. The book had action and humor as well.
I love this series. The detail is explicit. The action is packed. The love is evocative. I loved watching Duane and Sofia find themselves. Together. Bravo. Next, please. :)
As always this author can be counted on for a great read. Interesting characters, action packed, with strong smart women and the honorable sexy men who love them.
