I finally found the right LSAT book for understanding and learning one very important and very difficult section: Logical Reasoning. This book is divided into 22 chapters, all dealing with a specific type of questions. It provides you the methods to identify the important indicators for choosing the correct answer that is related with the question that is being asked. It is a very dense and detailed book, and requires frequent notes, so that you can actually learn the methods, drills, hints, and tips stated in the book. I have already read 100 - 120 pages, however, in order to learn from this book, and I have gone back and started rereading for the purposes of taking notes, and learning from it. This is the intention of the book. It is not just to read, however, to jot down notes continuously, that you think is important to you, so that you can learn. I recommend that if you buy this book, you should not just read it, because if you do, then you will forget it. In order to maximize your benefits, read, jot down notes, practice the drills, and understand all ideas and questions stated in this book. This book is very time consuming, and should be if you want to be master this section, however if you read it once or twice, do not take any notes, or understand every single concept that is laid out, then this book would fail to serve its purpose for you. In summary: this book is meticulously detailed, time consuming, precisely written, and requires vigorous participation from the reader, if they want the master this section to the teeth.

Preparing for the LSAT is a journey. Crushing it on test day requires dedication and effective study techniques. No one tool will fully prepare you to do well. That said, the PowerScore system was the main tool I used in my journey toward the 99th percentile.The PowerScore system essentially consists of 6 books: 3 bibles and 3 workbooks (one of each per LSAT section). The bibles take you through PowerScore's strategies and methods of attacking each section, while the workbooks give you practice questions and sections to hone your skills. For simplicity, I am writing two reviews: 1 that encompasses the 3 bibles and 1 for the workbooks.I began using these books approximately 3 months ahead of test day. I read all 3 bibles cover to cover. The bibles do a nice job of easing you into their system for attacking various question types. You learn strategies for marking up long passages quickly and effectively, picking apart logical reasoning question stems, identifying incorrect answers, and most importantly, drawing logic game (analytical reasoning) diagrams. This last one is crucial; of all the logic games methods I encountered, I believe PowerScore has the best one. Learn their method and you'll be on your way to 0 wrong on the logic games section (which is so important since Reading Comp will always get you).Another nice feature of the bibles is that they provide several quick exercises along the way that help to reinforce the methods they're teaching you. These exercises were a nice alternative to regular LSAT questions.Although I recommend getting all three bibles, I would rank them in the following order from most to least crucial: Logic Games, Logical Reasoning, Reading Comp. Here's why:1) Logic Games: As I mentioned, I'm a big fan of their approach for drawing game diagrams. Since the logic games section is the most abstract, you'll want to give yourself ample time to learn and practice your approach. Start with this book.2) Logical Reasoning: They do a great job addressing all the different question types that can appear in the LR section. This book is really important as well. It just falls behind Logic Games because it's not as abstract.3) Reading Comp: In my opinion, practice practice practice is a much more effective method of preparing for reading comp (as opposed to spending a lot of time learning a specific method). You'll want to practice reading really quickly while still retaining key points. That being said, this bible will help you with strategies for how to mark up the text to quickly go back to those key points. However, if you're strapped for cash, your money might be better spent toward a subscription to the Economist (their articles provide good practice for the types of passages you'll encounter on the LSAT, and this will help when you run out of real LSAT passages).

I'm not usually one to write reviews, but for this one I needed to. So far, I've only read through Chapter 11 (out of a total of 22 chapters). The book starts with a great overview of the LSAT, each section, and how it's scored, as well as an in-depth section about the basics of Logical Reasoning. Before I started studying at all, I took an LSAT practice test to gauge where I was at. I got a 159. Not a horrible starting point, but definitely not where I wanted to be. I have not taken any courses as a way to study, preferring to use prep books and free online information to save money (I graduated undergrad 3 years ago and am now working full-time and paying bills on my own, so spending hundreds to thousands of dollars on prep courses is just not an option for me). I did use 7Sage, the free account, in conjunction with the Logical Reasoning Bible. Specifically, I use the LSAT Proctor and Grader, and the logical game explanations are phenomenal (and completely free!).After reading only halfway through this book (and using 7Sage primarily for Logical Game instructions) I went from the initial 159 to a 171! I can't wait to see how much my score improves after finishing the book, not to mention once I get a chance to take a look at the Reading Comprehension Bible and possibly the Logical Games Bible. I'll be sure to update once I've finished the book!Wishing you all the best of luck!

Hands down the best study material for the LSAT. I self-studied with this over about 9 weeks and felt very well prepared going into the October 2015 LSAT. I feel that I bumped my previous score by around 10 points using the PS Bibles the second time around. Here are my 3 keys for efficient studying: 1.) Work through all Powerscore Bibles (LG, LR, RC), 2.) take as many prep tests as possible under times conditions (minimum of 10-15), and 3.) debrief each prep test by throughly reviewing all questions. This book is, to quote the metaphor of a famous author, “full of sound and fury, signifying nothing”. The book is really a composite of old archival declassified OSS and CIA notes from back in the day. It is an unending list of names and players; a Rogue’s Gallery of who’s who in the world of gun runners, warlords, and drug smugglers. Ms. Hill inundates her reader with copious amounts of detail yet fails to offer any significant insight or provide any real illumination regarding first causes with respect to the present war in Yemen. Ms. Hill has assembled an impressive edifice of facts but without exegesis, interpretation, or enlightenment. This book is not the work of a lone intrepid journalist who sacrificed her personal well-being, safety and comfort to tell the world about the sufferings of the Yemeni people. Nor is it the work of someone risking her life to obtain that information. Instead, one gets the impression from reading the book that the only real labor involved in her journalistic endeavors was in the collection and collating of old OSS, CIA, and State Department notes (all probably done in an air-conditioned apartment). She seems to have had plenty of time, while writing her book, to attend well-funded soirees and swank elegant dinner parties that were attended by diplomats, journalists, and political elites. It is also very clear from her writings that she had constant 24/7 round the clock security protection. As said, this is not the work of a journalistic heroine putting it all on the line. The work is very dry and analytical with a few personal anecdotal stories thrown in to keep the reader from falling asleep. It would be interesting to speculate and conjecture as to whether or not Ms. Hill may have been directly or indirectly involved in the fomenting of the Arab Spring Revolution. “Yemen Endures” is, like the Arabian Desert, dry, barren and lifeless. There is no lifeblood in it. In the end it leads the reader out into the desert wastelands where there is no water; only the dry swirling Sirocco winds mocking the reader for having made the journey.

The first 2/3 of the book is good with plenty of interviews. Once the author left the country, the information and story of Yemen stopped abruptly and feels like composed by other reporter's writing. Quite confusing because there is no name list, you are always lost in those hundreds of Arab names. The author never writes clearly during which year the event happened, it's always "last February"," two weeks later".

The manuscript for this books seems to have been handed straight to Ms Hill from the CIA.Yeah, ok, sure, BL was involved with 911.Whatever.Incoherent rambling narrative, obvious intelligence propaganda.Don't bother.

I purchased this book from England where it was released a few months earlier than in the US. The book is a blend of historical account, and journalist essay, covering the period from 1960 until early 2016. It gives a vivid depiction of the complex interwoven elements that form the remarkable Yemeni political landscape. It has very detailed references and notes, and an excellent index. The tone is serious, detailed, factual, and perceptive. An outstanding work, it gives a very informative background for the tragic 2017 developments in Yemen.

Great tool for my kids. Very important for safety, and also useful basic skills for interpersonal relationships and managing one's own emotions (e.g. de-escalation instead of lashing out). I wish more kids had these books to better learn this stuff from an early age.

Drawings are black and white so thought my son wouldn’t like it. But once we started reading he was completely engaged. Easy to read, fun to act out, and really help describe how to handle most challenges that I didn’t know how to talk about. So helpful!

I liked the messages, but the artwork was not my favorite. Probably won't read it again just for that.

I especially like the additional commentary by Patton. This is a good edition and is well translated. The commentary helps to tease out some of the subtleties of Kant's work on a difficult subject of morality.

It's been 3 months since I had to read this book for a class, and I found myself referencing it just last night! Kant is remarkable and this book equips one with the tools to answer fundamental questions about morals.As for the translation, I can't say that I have anything with which it may be compared. I neither speak German nor have I read an alternative translation per sé. I can only say that I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book, and that it has impacted my mentality to a profound degree.

Wrong word choice? "On the other band" instead of hand.And this a few paragraphs later, "...tastes of the public, are wont to blend"It is aggravating! Same on me for not researching which publisher to buy from. I do not recommend this version.

E-book and paperback are two different editions. Get the paperback if you need this for an Ethics class. The e-book will have you very confuse when you get assigned a chapter to read because the e-book is divided into 3 sections and the text is different than the paperback.

What a cover! Instilling new live into Kant's work, for sure.A troublesome use of parallels, plus a sense of undeniable fatality gives me the joy of trying to understand this guy.

All of Kant's works are outstanding, but what makes the versions of Kant's works good or bad (that I can read) is the translator. Since this book is the only complete translation of both parts of "The Metaphysics of Morals," I had doubts about its quality. But, as I found out, this book has been translated smoothly -- although I cannot compare it with the German version.What I like about Mary Gregor's translation, is her use of footnotes. She clearly defines Latin phrases and the layered meanings of German words whose depth and meaning would be in too hasty of a translation.Also, she introduces Kant's main ideas very well; and by doing so, expands and clarifies the ideas he presents in his treatise. The footnotes are not excessive; Gregor seems to have balanced them well. The presentation of the footnotes, typography, and the library grade (acid free) paper make this book a keeper.

Some of the logic presented is very nice. Some statements are profound. It is a classic.

Once I heard this book would be released here in the states I was happy yet a bit skeptical, the reason being that I wondered if Junji still "had" it. I can say that he still has a twisted mind of sorts that'll leave you satisfied. When I received the manga through the mail the first thing you notice is well, Junji's signature artwork which stands out by the cover being embossed. I have to say that it makes it stand out and look and feel really nice.The manga revolves around a pair of siblings who go from town to town causing mayhem with each chapter getting darker than the previous one. Surprisingly Junji wrote the story with a meaningful message attached to it which I agreed to. If you're looking to get more horror manga make sure to add this one to your collection for it'll make a fine addition to it.

Great, creepy, gruesom collection of short stories about these awful, awful siblings.I love Junji Ito's work and love seeing more of his stuff coming state-side.

In my opinion, I liked this book a lot and I found it to be interesting. The only problem I had was the characters and how one-dimensional they were, but then again it is only one book and that makes it hard to develop characters. This book isn't as twisted as Uzumaki and Tomie, but still very interesting to read. I am very truly sorry if this was a bad review of the book.

I love Ito's art but this collection of stories fell flat for me. I like the mostly connecting story but only one story gave me the creeps. Some interesting ideas though but just not what I expected. Still happy to have it in my Ito collection though.

I love just about anything by Junji Ito and this was up to par. It's a quick read but holds a lot of the same tropes you see along his work. If you're a fan and frequently buy manga, it's worth adding to your collection!

Jungi Ito is a huge talent. This book preys on cultural stigmas in Japan, so some from the states may not understand it, but if you love Ito's brand of horror, you will love this. Check out the short story at the end...my favorite part!

Beautifully packaged and bound, the 2 characters on the cover are embossed and all the melted people are glossy while the rest is matte. The storyline is very good and follows these 2 characters. This is definitely a must have if you're a fan of the horror genre and especially if you're a fan of Junji Ito. It isn't his best work but it is phenomenal!I will be doing a full video review of this and will update my review here when it's finished!

I bought Gyo and Dissolving classroom together , and I enjoyed Dissolving classroom MUCH more. Although Gyo was great I loved the satanic worshiping aspect of D.C. All time favorite Junji Ito is still the Tomie Mangas. Waiting for my Uzumaki book to arrive.
