Leans very heavy into Rachel's involvement with LGBT organizations. Written for a Junior High or Senior High audience. Rachel Maddow is my favorite commentator on television. She is smart, often humorous, and with a creative look at what is happening on the news. I knew very little about her background until I read this book. Although it is described as "Juvenile Literature" this book does not "talk down" to the reader. It tells about Rachel's life, her coming out as gay, her suffering from cyclical depression because of a chemical imbalance, and her working to improve the lives of others. I recommend this book to anyone who wants to learn about a person who is worthy of our admiration.

There are three CD's available in this series, Meditation, Self-Hypnosis and this one. All of them follow the same format: an introduction to whom Edgar Cayce was, a definition of the topic and finally at the very end, a short guided meditation followed by more talking that instructs you on the benefits of using the meditation often. I'm a great fan of Cayce, but this series completely ignores the needs of the listener who in all likelihood knows who Cayce was, wouldn't be considering the CD if they didn't understand the topic and is anxious to hear the meditation they "thought" they were buying. Unfortunately the CD is 90% annoying, condescending discussion and 10% meditation. I would recommend Sylvia Browne's Tools for Life over anything in this series. She has some nice meditations on several of her audio books and unlike the narration on this CD, the talk portion is very entertaining.

LUISA CAPETILLO was born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico, in 1879 to working class parents. She worked in cigar factories as a reader, where she first became active in labor organizing. I was dissapointed that it arrived with a large gash in the front cover, that is my only reason for a four star rating. Otherwise, it would be overwhelmingly a five star glowing review.We gifted this to my husband’s step brother and his new wife. It totally fits their style of humor. We read through it with them and my mother in law. I have literally never seen my mother in law laugh so hard in my life. She was hysterical.Many of the statements are hilariously true. Reading a chapter of this book (each one is only 7 or 8 pages long) stirs my faith in Christ and my resolve to be a witness for Him. These are the kind of believers who will be the heroes of heaven, not the big-name Western mega-church pastors who preach in comfort and safety. And for the name of each faithful witness in this book, there are a thousand unknown heroes of the faith whose names and stories we will never know until eternity. The ultimate hero of the book is the Lord Jesus Christ, who transformed and empowered these Ethiopian evangelists. If you want your evangelistic fervor stirred up, read these stories. Read them to your kids, too. They're exciting and short.

Richard Gazarik spent more than four decades as a journalist in Western Pennsylvania. Each provision is addressed in detail, and occasionally there are examples of case law that might apply.
