The content is relative to the CEH exam, and is very helpful. I have learned a good deal about the certification requirements. But the typos and grammar are so bad that I've had to read sentences multiple times to try and determine their meaning - oftentimes, I'm left not really knowing for sure. I don't think it was written by a native English speaker, as evident by the lack of articles such as "a" and "the." This book needs some major rounds of proofreading and correction.Additionally, don't plan on taking any of the sample tests to prepare you for the actual test. For example, one of the sample questions is (paraphrased) Which DNS record reveals information about the mail server (MX)? The answer (MX) is in the question! And some questions are very nebulous, with no definitive answers anywhere in the text. I'm considering this book a basic overview of the information before I really start studying.

If I could give 0 stars, that’s what this book would get. It is very apparent that the authors do not speak English as their first language. Review questions at the end of each of the chapters use words that don’t apply to the question and you have to figure out what the questions are trying to ask in many cases.There is basically no detail in each of the sections of the book, it gives a paragraph describing each heading. If you’re buying this book to study for the CEH exam, I hope you’ve got a lot of industry experience and can go off of what you learned previous to reading this.This will no longer sell as soon as other books become available for the current CEH exam.

I think this was written either by a machine, or someone with a very loose grasp on the English language. It's awful. CEH Certified Ethical Hacker Bundle, Third Edition is at least written by a person, and is much butter. (This is the kind of mistake you'll find in this book.)

It reads like one lengthy ESL blog post, not a book. This book was written so poorly it made me second-guess myself on topics I've already mastered. I would not recommend this book to anyone.

From the Author: 5 Tips for Shooting Concerts Alan Hess, Author 1. Learn how to shoot in manual mode. The constant changing lights at a live concert can cause exposure problems that shooting in manual mode can help you overcome. When you use any of the modes other than manual to control the exposure settings on your camera, the cameras built in light meter has control over some of the settings. For example, when you shoot in aperture priority mode, you set the aperture, but the camera reads the light in the scene and sets the shutter speed. When you use shutter speed priority, you set the shutter speed, but the camera reads the light in the scene and sets the aperture. If the light in the background gets brighter all of a sudden then the camera will pick a faster shutter speed or a smaller aperture and can cause the main part of the image to be underexposed. To really get consistent great concert shots, you need to be able to adjust the shutter speed and aperture yourself using the manual mode of the camera. 2. Use the right metering mode. In the previous tip, I suggest that you use the manual mode to take the photos which ignores the metering mode but even though the camera doesn't use the information, it is very useful to get the correct settings to start with. The best metering mode for most concert photographs is the spot metering mode. The spot metering mode ignores most of the scene in front of the camera and instead only uses a very small area usually centered around the focus point. By just reading the light in this small section and not the whole scene means that the moving lights in the background or the lack of light in the background is ignored. 3. Focus carefully. When shooting in low light as is the norm when shooting concerts, you usually have to use the widest aperture available on the lens. This wide aperture means a shallow depth of field and in the cases when you use a prime lens with a maximum aperture of f/1.4 a very shallow depth of field. This means that you have to be very careful what the focus point of the image is. Make sure that you pick the correct spot for the focus point. 4. Timing is everything. With all photography, you need to make sure that you are capturing the subject at the best possible moment. When it comes to concert photography this usually means that you have to wait until the musician is not hidden behind the microphone or turned away from you. Watch for the interactions between the performer and the audience for those moments that make the show special and do your research. If the performer is known for a special look or action, make sure you capture that. 5. Shoot in bursts. With the ability of today's digital cameras to shoot in continuous mode and the large capacity memory cards being relatively inexpensive there is no reason not to shoot in bursts. That is to take 3,4 or even 5 shots in quick succession instead of just one. This allows you to capture the moment with more certainty and even if the lights are changing you can still get the shot. In this case I had to lean back and very carefully compose the shot as not to cut the guitar neck or Dave's shoulder on the other side. Be aware of all the action going on in the frame and make sure the elements that you want to show are in focus. The book itself is great, and perfect for a beginner. For someone that has actually been doing concert shoots for a few years, it was just reaffirmation of stuff I learned the hard way, on my own. It's all above the photography, the venue relationships, dealing with the artists, and the common sense stuff. It really is a great book, but aimed more for those that don't already have venue relationship, haven't already been 'doing it' in the real world. It really could have saved me a whole lot of time had I read it before jumping into concert shoots. And he's 1000% correct, having SECURITY & the venue manager/owner on your side is key to making anything happen. And following the rules of the artist's manager/label is key to ever having the opportunity to shooting that artist again in the future.

I am just learning about this field and this book has really helped encourage me to join it! Great personal examples and from others in the field. Mentions settings to start with which is helpful too!

There are only a handful of books on this topic available on amazon, I read all of them and this one is head and shoulders above the rest.I think the most important feature is that Hess gives you a lot of info about who to contact and how to contact them to get access to shows, which is the biggest challenge for someone getting into this field. The other books either ignored this or were kind of like "contact people, get into shows", Hess gives you a template and an idea what to say so you look professional.other parts of the book that really stood out:-lots of technical camera info but very accessible even to someone like me who has limited experience, I learned more about just photography in general from this book than I have from other photography books, plus you get all the concert shooting related knowledge on top of that, great value.-lots of interviews and tips from other industry professionals, really giving you ideas about how other people work and different points of view, it gave the book different voices and allows you to gather a lot of info from different sources and different job families.I could go on and on, but all you need to know is that if you are interested in this type of work and are reading this review, you should just buy the book, you will not be sorry.

This just showed up on my doorstep and I got sucked into the vortex that is the Harry Potter world. Stunning and well written. If only actual textbooks I’d read growing up were this...wait for it...fantastic...I’d have been a straight A student. Buy it. You won’t regret it.

I'm a little bit disappointed with this release. The writing is great, but my problem is with the illustrations. Specifically, the varying quality of the illustrations. Some of the artwork that has been featured in previews and on the cover is great and I expected the book to be full of similarly designed, thought out, and rendered creatures. However, too many of the illustrations are of a lower quality. Many of them look like the illustrator simply looked up an image of an actual animal and just drew it. I don't like how I can flip through the pages and think, "oh that's just an orangutan. That's just a ferret. That's just a salamander, but painted red." For example, the erumpent illustration, to me, looks like the artist just googled a picture of a rhinoceros and drew it almost exactly as it is. I understand they're not adhering to the specific art style of the movies, but I would have preferred something a bit more fantastical and other-worldly like the erumpent design from the film. Again, there are some great illustrations in here, but overall I think most of them are just ok and that's not quite what I expected.

On the whole, I’m glad I added this book to my collection. The illustrations are gorgeous and the lore is fascinating.I really only have two problems with the book:1) The book is taller than the other Harry Potter illustrated editions so it doesn’t fit well as part of the collection2) Some of the artist’s interpretations are plain bad. As can be seen in the attached picture, the Erumpent looks exactly like a rhinoceros. Now the description says it can be mistaken for a rhinoceros from far away, but the illustration looks like the artist just drew a rhino. There are a couple of instance like that. I was hoping that, with the Fantastic Beasts movie being out, that some of the artwork would look more like the beasts from the movie.

 I love the actual story but The pages are upside down and they start from the back cover and read to the front cover of the book. Which isn’t really a problem for me but it might be for others. Also they may have realized tbeir mistake by now and reprinted them.

A big beautiful hardcover coffee table book.Pros:The pages are made of thick textured Matte paper - like the paper artists use for watercolor paints. Hence,The images of the animals are done to look like their artsy watercolor paintings.- Contains lots of extended fold out pictures of the fantastic beasts animals.Cons:- The hardcover has no slipcover, which normally I prefer not to have, provided the books hardcover exterior doesn’t look cheap. Having said that, there is something cheap about the outer packaging of this hardcover. I’ve purchased books 1/3 the cost of this that had a much more attractive look to it (having used different types of cardboard material and fabrics to dress it up). Also the colored image on the face of the book does not do the images inside any justice. The UK edition has a much more appropriate cover art on it. Which makes me wished I ordered that copy. I included a picture of the uk edition for you to compare.- It is a bit expensive when you compare it to the costs of the newly illustrated hardcover Harry Potter editions, which have hundreds more pages in them than this book.

I'm as much of a Harry Potter nerd as the next person, and I really liked the Fantastic Beasts Illustrated Ed., but It's kinda a take it or leave it. It expands on the original text with more illustrations, obviously, but I wish it had more expansion on the creatures, such as their history more habitat and dietary things, any species branches and that kind of thing. At the same time, I realize that there simply might not be any, but I don't know. The format I just wish read a little bit more scientific (lol). Still the illustrations are AMAZING! And the book is a great edition to all of the reference and companion books to Harry Potter

Being a Pottehead family and of course having to collect all the books and anxiously waiting each year for the next illustrated book to come out I could not be without this!My son who is 8 is a HUGE Harry Potter fan. So when he saw the smaller version of Fantastic Beasts at his book faire of course he wanted it. So I did my research and found this book was just being released.Nothing like revealing a Harry Potter text book to my son for Christmas!Of course I had to flip through it myself and the illustrations are amazing, ranging from field sketches to amazing works of detailed art. This certainly brings that extra sense of magic to a long-time childhood favorite for me.A simple must have for the esteemed Potterhead!

You have to go in knowing what you’re buying. It’s not the same as the other Harry Potter illustrated editions, but it’s still a fun book to have. The cover bows out a bit, like it’s perhaps warped. The book doesn’t close properly because of the cover. The pages are really thick and nice, but while reading I noticed the pages starting to curl. Amazon also did a poor job of packaging the book, so I’m pleasantly surprised that there’s no real damage. I got the book on sale for $12 with free shipping, I would never pay more than that for it.

This book provides an excellent overview of the GED testing process. Moreover, procedural questions were answered in detail, as well as suggestions were shared as to how to evaluate and approach each section of the test.

I just dont find any of this useful. Its like quizzing you for the internet and how to take the test, not whats actually going to be in the test. I dont know maybe its just me, but I give a thumbs down.

Prepared me quite well! I passed them on my first try!

Bought for my son to give him a head start on studying. It was a great study tool for preparing for the GED test. Very comparable to what they give you at the college without paying so much.

My social worker wife bought this for a child client to help them get prepared for their GED! She said it was a great book and definitely worth it!

This book is great. Got it for a 20 year old who will be taking his test soon. Great book.
