I bought a stack of "Art of" books for one of my design classes to share with my students. This one (with Tangled a close second) is by far the best in terms of the design process. Lots about the research, the preliminary design work, and the iterations of the process made it useful as well as lovely. So many of these books are just a collection of final concept art an stills from the movie. Nice, but not enlightening. This book goes much deeper into the process.

I went into "Brave" fairly skeptical. It didn't look like the kind of movie I would normally watch, but then it was made by Pixar so that made me curious. Then, my teenage son saw it with a friend and said he thought I would enjoy it. I went, and he was right!The visuals in the movie are stunning and the story is fantastic. As a family, we all appreciated the message about listening to each other.This book, then, is a wonderful companion as it shows the artwork of the movie and the pre-production artwork that was developed over the years that it took to make the movie. As a wanna-be artist myself, I like books like this anyway, but I especially appreciated how this book showed the interaction of how the art and the characters progressed. Characters grew and then the art would change accordingly, or the art would change and the character would grow to match.

I have a ton of these books. I wanted to get this one because I loved the animation of the movie, and wanted to see the process. It was interesting to see the pre design character sketches of Merida. This book has a lot of character sketches, but only a few of each character. It has the background designs, and info about the process of the movie. It wasn't my favorite book of the art of Disney books, but it is still a good one. I just wish there was more sketches instead of digital drawings. Overall if you love the art of Disney books, are into drawing, loved the movie, or have a career in art then you would enjoy this book!

I love all the "Art of..." books! It's full of wonderful sketches and concept art for each character and environments. I collect these as inspiration and technique studies for my own artwork. A great gift for an aspiring artist or anyone to liked the movie!

Just like the movie, the book's color scheme is pretty dark which is a great contrast to the other 'Art of' books that I own (Moana, Big Hero 6). I'm really satisfied with the stunning quality and resolution of the art. There's a ton of really interesting facts about the movie and making of too!!

This book was so much bigger and heavier than I thought it would be.The detail on the pages is amazing, and the artwork is genuinely beautiful.I would definitely recommend this book for any disney fan.I also want to give Kudos to amazon for shipping this to my home within 1 day as I requested.I really needed it for a birthday gift and it arrived on time, I'm so grateful for 1 day shipping!!

The artistry and story of this movie moved me from the first moments, so I knew I needed this book when I saw it. I'm so pleased with it. The sketches and commentary compliment the movie so well. The one thing I would change about it is having the picture that's on the dust cover actually being on the cover, but that's because I'm not a fan of dust covers. Lovely book, though! I must have for Brave fans!

Beautiful book, I love having it on my coffee table to look through. I got it with the Pixar 25th anniversary color scripts and Wreck-it-Ralph art books.

A well-done book summarizing the lifestyle that will support both health and endurance excellence. The Maffetone method seems to remain controversial (unliked) but I think a lot of this can be attributed to unwillingness to put in the time it takes to develop "a great aerobic engine". It's also culturally out of sync with the high-intensity-every-workout training that often (but not necessarily) characterizes crossfit-like training programs. After a typical MAF workout one should feel energized and certainly not ready to meet "Rabdo" - that's totally out of sync with our adrenaline obsessed culture.BUT - Maffetone's training method works. Take the time to build your aerobic engine and you will soon be running (biking, rowing...) circles around the athletes who only training high intensity. It's important to note that Maffetone is not against high intensity training - it just needs to be in its place - on top of a well-developed aerobic engine. Read the book, take the time and build your aerobic engine. You will not regret it.

I had high hopes for this book. After being introduced to Dr. Maffetone and his unorthodox training philosophy in Christopher McDougall's "Natural Born Heroes" I picked up this book hoping to get a fuller exposition of his training philosophy. The book starts out on a promising note -- the secret of endurance is aerobic fitness -- but then it starts to meander and eventually you aren't sure how various topics fit together. The book could have been greatly shortened and more useful if he had focused on the central themes of his training philosophy -- train slower and don't eat junk food. Everything else, especially the references to him reading scientific articles for fun, are not necessary and seem self-indulgent. Those criticisms aside, though, Dr. Maffetone's advice about cutting out junk food and exercising smarter seem spot on.

This is THE MANUAL if you have had issues with running and injuries or not being able to improve your running. Phil Maffetone gets to the heart of the matter by explaining that you are probably breaking your body down instead of building it up. You may seem more fit, but you are probably less healthy. It's the less health part that creeps up and causes injuries and in some cases death. This is a must read if your goal is to be fit AND healthy.

I love Phil Maffetone! I'm a pro mountain biker and I wish I'd known about Phil 15 years ago. I could have saved myself so much heartache. Over the years I've fallen into every trap Phil describes in this wonderful book. No other coach is thinking as progressively as Phil. When was the last time you heard a coach talking about the importance of methylated B vitamins? Details matter. Highly recommended.

In the year since using Phil Maffetone's MAF method, I have been able to run two marathons, including a Disney World Dopey Challenge (which consists of four consecutive days of a 5k, 10k, half marathon, and full marathon) without any injury. This is my first full year without injury and without decreasing mileage.The book helps in understanding the differences between the roles of the aerobic and anaerobic systems in run training.The book is easy to follow, and the method is clearly described. It may not be for everyone, but for now, it is the method for me.

I like this book very much. Great Information on nutrition to help the running to become fat adapted. Great advice on on running in your aerobic zone. Just a overall great book. I could probably read again and learn more.

My neice and I are huge criminal minds fans and love Shemar Moore. I know she will love

This small booklet contains what looks like photocopies of Shemar Moore pictures with some lines blackened to create outlines. The lines are not very detailed and some are so shaded that you cannot color them.

I ordered this for a Christmas present and i have to say that I am rather disappointed in the crappy quality of the pictures to color. There weren't any pictures so that I knew what i was getting. Wouldn't recommend unless you don't mind extremely grainy pictures.
